Climate Alarmism is Out of Control – The LNG Pipeline Debacle Shows
Trains in Ontario are being disrupted and business is being disrupted across the nation because of protestors. “Don’t be fooled. This isn’t a genuine movement for social justice. These are outsiders exploiting a division within one First Nation in the hope of creating chaos on the ground,” writes Tom Flanagan Professor Emeritus of Political Science on the Fraser Institute website.
He continues, “Many of the protestors swarming the B.C. legislature or blocking highways and railways across the country are not members of the Wet’suwet’en Nation or any other First Nation. They are the usual crowd of environmentalists and anti-capitalists. For many, their goal is to destroy the market economy that’s created so much prosperity and the democratic government that protects our freedoms. They want a government of activists, where they will call the shots. Their hashtag says it all—#ShutDownCanada.”
Little more could have been done to plan this project by the book. The process of determining the route, including 362,000 hours of fieldwork and exhaustive consultations are documented here and the specifics of the consultation with the Wetʼsuwetʼen communities is shown on the BoE website.
This debacle, along with the halting of the Teck Resources Frontier mine illustrates that Climate Alarmism is out of hand in Canada. Climate Realism Canada aims to rebalance the dialog for the benefit of this and future generations of Canadians.
